What does being an APMP Fellow mean to you?

Being an APMP Fellow means constantly trying to contribute to the APMP community by being an active member of my chapter, serving on APMP committees, and mentoring new bid and proposals professionals. It also means upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.

What's your best memory from attending an APMP event?

Attending my first chapter event, where everyone was so welcoming and kind. Eric Gregory gave the presentation that night, and one of the case studies he reviewed was about a bid Bob Lohfeld had won despite overwhelming odds, so it was very memorable.

What advice do you have for a proposal professional entering our field?

Take advantage of all the resources that APMP offers! Do not hesitate to reach out to a fellow and ask for help or advice.

Anything else you would like to share?

It has been a great pleasure to be part of APMP. It is a vital and growing community.

Being a part of APMP, I get access to the knowledge and experience of great leaders and mentors from the community. I have learned a great deal from the webinars and conferences I attended on diverse topics from career progression in Proposal Management, trends (such as automation) in PreSales to achieving work-life balance, and handling burn-outs – all real-life experiences.

I never want to be complacent in my career, so it has been beneficial to have this group of peers who are going through similar trials and tribulations in the proposal world on a day-to-day basis.

Acquiring this micro-certification allows me to expand my aperture regarding the collaboration between capture and proposal management to develop more robust, customer-centric Executive Summaries for future pursuits. It allows me to advance my skill set, evolve my knowledge, and reflect my commitment to continuous learning.

APMP certification is the gold standard for the industry. For me, accreditation is formal recognition of my commitment to the profession, as well as an avenue for improving my performance and bid outcomes by training in APMP principles.

This topic, Executive Summaries, is way underrated. The Executive Summary is the most eye-catching document, which almost everyone on the customer side reads. Yet, in most bid teams, we don’t dedicate the attention it deserves. I want to learn about something I can immediately put into practice at my workplace, which provides a “quick win” to the team and is a long-term benefit for the company.
